PostPartum

Osteopathy for postpartum women focuses on the health and well-being of new mothers: aiding recovery; addressing pain and discomfort; and supporting the physical demands of caring for a newborn.

I am passionate about looking after new mothers and I am proud to be an Innate Postpartum Care provider having completed Rachelle Garcia Seliga’s nine-month course. This training has given me an in-depth understanding of what it takes to have a thriving postpartum period and a true appreciation for the value of mother-centred care. When we support mothers to feel good we are in turn supporting health and wellness for their babies and children, and the community at large.

Whilst the postpartum period is most commonly considered to be the six weeks after giving birth to a baby, we are also postpartum after a stillbirth, a miscarriage, or an abortion. I am passionate about supporting the health and wellness of women in and throughout all of these postpartum scenarios. And I believe that the postpartum period stretches way past six weeks, and that actually we can be considered to be postpartum for the rest of our lives after a pregnancy. It’s never too late to tend to issues that arise from this incredibly important and transformative time in our lives.
